Sir William Anson, 1st Baronet

General Sir William Anson, 1st Baronet KCB (13 August 1772 – 1847) was a general in the British Army noted for his service in Peninsular War[1]

The Anson Baronetcy was created for him on 30 September 1831.

He was the third son of George Anson; his elder brothers were Thomas Anson, 1st Viscount Anson and General Sir George Anson.[2]

On 26 January 1815 he married Louisa Frances Mary, daughter of John Dickenson. They had children:[3]
